The Greeks had a very interesting way of life. The inventions they created helped them, just like our inventions today help us. Some examples of the inventions are: coin operated water, clay lamps, three legged furniture, the olympics and drama (plays). The coin operated water dispenser was different and I never really knew that the Greeks had invented that. It was used for venders to receive money. It was a vase full of water with a spout at the bottom. At the top there was a container to drop your coin in, and because of the weight the water would be pushed out through the spout. The clay lamps were the means of light in homes and in mines. This lamp had two holes. A large one that had oil poured into and the second small hole a small flame was inserted. Three-legged furniture was the one thing that I have never heard of before. The purpose of the three legs was so the furniture could stand on bumpy and uneven ground. Drama was very important in Greece. It told stories and entertained all Greeks. Drama also created jobs for actors too. Last but not least, the olympics. The Olympics were very important in greece, Created in Mt. Olympus, the olympics were a way for greeks to compete for entertainment.
